Tamar Gegechkori is an Associate at Blue Star Strategies, LLC, where her work focuses on research and analysis of Eastern European political affairs and international trade.
Tamar's experience in quantitative and qualitative research includes previous positions at the Ministry of Defense of Georgia, UNICEF, and ACT Consulting Group where she worked on large-scale regional projects on sustainable development.
Prior to joining the firm, Tamar worked at the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies (Rondeli Foundation), where she focused on issues such as potential security challenges from cross-border trade in the Caucasus, national security implications of Georgia’s energy policy, and the role of religious and social institutions in democratic state-building and good governance in the post-Soviet era.
Born and raised in Republic of Georgia, Tamar graduated from Bard College in New York with a joint major in Sociology and International Studies. For her senior thesis, she conducted a year-long research project on internal displacement caused by the 2008 South Ossetian conflict between Russia and Georgia.
A passionate downhill skier and winter enthusiast, Tamar speaks fluent Russian, English, and her native Georgian.
